Project Overview
This project sought to bridge the digital divide between Bhutan and Lao PDR by building human resource capacity in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), particularly targeting underserved remote schools, colleges, and communities. With strong emphasis on gender balance and utilizing a "Train the Trainers" (TTT) model to ensure knowledge sustainability and long-term impact.

Project Objectives
Main Objective: To develop sustainable ICT capacity in Bhutan and Laos through targeted training in network engineering, cybersecurity, and digital literacy, with a specific aim of addressing gender imbalance and promoting cross-country collaboration.
Sub-objectives:
- Train ICT professionals and faculty through CCNA, CyberOps, and IoT courses
- Strengthen digital literacy in underserved schools and communities
- Equip educational institutions with Wi-Fi infrastructure
- Develop a digital content sharing platform to foster collaboration

Challenges Encountered
Delivery of equipment in Bhutan was affected by supplier availability
Concern over continuity and application of gained skills without future interventions
Limited initial engagement with the digital LMS, requiring continuous promotion and support
Future Directions
- Ongoing Platform Utilization: Encourage broader usage of the Moodle LMS for national and regional collaboration
- Expanded Community Training: Extend training programs to include NGOs, religious institutions, and local communities
- In-house Curriculum Development: Develop customized courses using trained local faculty to ensure relevance and continuity
- Cross-Border Collaboration: Maintain and deepen Lao-Bhutan technical exchange programs
